It is not intended to be a ranking, such as the Associated Press Top 25. When done correctly, rankings should tell you where a team sits by virtue of what it has already done. The power rating for each team is my take on what the point spread would be on a neutral field against an average team.
A change at the top this week, as Alabama moves back into the top spot. For the first time, I have considered Ohio State as the best.
Regardless, with the uncertainty around the quarterback position for the Tide, and the mediocre play of Georgia for two weeks straight, there is a tightening at the top. A lot more teams can dream of a national title now.
